About me

A first step towards change

Hello, I'm Tanith.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), working with adults and young people.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as an Equine Dental Technician for 26 years. Whilst this may seem very different from counselling, supporting others has always been at the heart of what I do. Following my own experiences of an abusive relationship, I made the decision to retrain as a counsellor. Through my personal journey of healing and recovery, I discovered a passion for helping others navigate their own challenges and find a way forward.

My own life experiences have shaped the counsellor I am today. Alongside being diagnosed with ADHD later in life and living with a neurodivergent family, I also live with chronic health conditions. These experiences have given me a personal understanding of the challenges that come with managing health concerns, adapting to change, and navigating life when things do not always go as planned and has given me valuable insight into the unique strengths and challenges that can come with living in a neurodivergent world. I am passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals and creating a space where clients feel understood rather than judged.

I enjoy working with both adults and young people and have a particular interest in supporting those experiencing anxiety, stress, low self-confidence, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, the impact of domestic abuse, and recovery following difficult life experiences.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs. I believe that no two people are the same, and counselling should reflect that. My work is client-led and holistic, meaning that together we will explore not only the challenges you are facing, but also your strengths, resilience and personal goals.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult. My aim is to provide a warm, welcoming and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and       accepted.

My hope is that counselling provides a safe space where you can better understand yourself, build confidence, develop healthier coping strategies and create positive change in your life.

I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
